Pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge smartphones have just been announced by Verizon Wireless on April 1. Two colors, Black Sapphire and White Pearl, will be available and the models will range in internal storage between 33-128GB. Unfortunately, the long-awaited Samsung Galaxy flagships do not have expandable storage via microSD slots or a replaceable battery this time around, but both will feature a 5.1″ Quad HD AMOLED display and a battery that allows for Fast Charging. For the full press release and details, read on below:
The Samsung Galaxy S® 6 and Galaxy S® 6 edge will be available for pre-order from Verizon Wireless beginning April 1. Each smartphone will be available in Black Sapphire and White Pearl – in 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB models (formatted capacity is less).
The Samsung Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 edge feature a 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED® display and premium materials, like aluminum framing and Corning® Gorilla Glass® 4. And so you never miss a photo opportunity, the intuitive front and rear-facing cameras launch faster than ever before, simply by double tapping the home button.
When it comes to battery life, it’s safe to say that hardly anybody likes getting a “low battery” alert — but we’ve all been there. The Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 edge each have Ultra Power Saving Mode so you can still text and receive calls for up to 24 hours when you’re at 10% battery. And when you do need to charge, the Fast Charging feature gives you up to 50% in about 30 minutes.2
Coverage and Reliability Matters
Taking amazing pictures on the Galaxy S 6 or Galaxy S 6 edge is great, but without a mobile network that has speed and coverage, that picture will just stay in your gallery app. Using these phones on Verizon’s 4G LTE network means you can upload and share those pictures without worrying about a slow connection or, even worse, the “no network connection, try again” message virtually anywhere in the United States.
Hear the Difference
The Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 edge are the 13th and 14th smartphones in Verizon’s portfolio to support Advanced Calling 1.0, the most of any service provider. With Advanced Calling 1.0, you can experience HD Voice and Video calls to other compatible Verizon smartphones, and hear the difference this technology enables across Verizon’s 4G LTE network.
Accessories
Accessorizing adds style and customizes your smartphone. The Galaxy S 6 will launch with many accessories including the S View Flip Cover in Black Sapphire ($49.99). And the Speck® CandyShell Grip ($34.99) will be available for both the Galaxy S 6 and the Galaxy S 6 edge. Verizon Wireless also has a variety of wireless charging solutions to take advantage of the built-in wireless charging capability on the Galaxy S 6 and Galaxy S 6 edge. It’s a convenient way to charge your phone by simply placing it on the charging pad, no phone plugging in or extra cables necessary.
