Elon Musk’s SpaceX launched its third Dragon mission this morning. Unfortunately, Falcon 9 rocket had thruster failures after successfully launching into orbit at 10:10am ET this morning to bring cargo to the International Space Station.
Musk live tweeted (@Elonmusk) the troubleshooting immediately afterward, concluding at around 11:30 stating that the solar array deployment (in lieu of the needed three working thrusters) was successful. In addition, he noted SpaceX was “attempting bring up of thruster pods 2 and 4.” The issues could leave the Dragon unable to reach the ISS and complete its mission.
According to NASA, a teleconference will be held at 3 p.m. ET for further details.
