CES 2015 is here and so is the new tech we’ve waited for all year. Last year when LG introduced the G Flex, it seemed like a ridiculous, curvy gimmick. Who needs a self-healing (lame and gray plastic) back, flexible screen and bendable battery in a smartphone? Interesting dynamics, sure. But useful? I have yet to see a single person carry one of these since last year. Well, as it turns out, LG does not see this as a one-off attempt and has debuted yet another curved phone, the LG G Flex 2.
The 5.5″ device has a Snapdragon 810 and is a 30% more durable and flexible phone. It actually comes in some interesting colors this time, such as “Flamenco Red” as shown above. In our trial of the phone last year, we didn’t really see the point considering how awkward it is to hold, let alone review. Use in viewing HD film seems more immersive perhaps, but again, the entire “crack-proof” gimmick is absolutely silly. What do you think? Below was my reaction to last year’s model and here’s a link to the full review.
